Saturated medium ruby. More Hermitage than Côte-Rôtie on the extraordinary nose, conveying an impression of granitic minerality to its scents of crushed blackberry, blueberry, violet, licorice and charcuterie. Delivers an uncommon combination of density, energy and definition, not to mention a deeply spicy quality and more obvious iron-like minerality and gaminess than the 2011 version.
